Michael Essien is back wow!!!

Michael Essien, the formal Chelsea midfielder has joined Daniah club Nordjaelland as a player-coach for the 2020-21 session, wow!!!

This news was revealed today how the 37-year-old Ghanaian footballer agreed to assist Flemming Pedersen the head coach for the coming campaign.

According to the club, the things Michael Essien will be doing includes

  • Joining the staff in an assistant role
  • Taking part in the training sessions alongside the players to help implement the ideas.
  • Contributing to video analysis and group evaluation following each session.

Micheal Essien will start his duties on Thursday, he has also taken to his social media to share his joy as he prepares to achieve his coaching qualification at the club.

Michael in his speech said;

I am happy to join FC Nordsjaelland coaching staff as part of my development towards my full coaching license.

He said that he will also assist the players on and off the pitch as part of his role.

Jan Laursen the club’s sports director speaking on Essien’s appointment said that michael left a very positive impression here during his visit and that legacy continued after he had left.

Pedersen head coach said that they have seen Michael Essien as both curious and hungry for knowledge before and after the training session and also contributing and giving among the players during training sessions.
